WMS Mission & Vision Statement

Our team is committed to serving all scholars by providing them with a safe educational experience focused on deeper learning, celebrating diversity, and fostering leadership.

Our vision is to empower students to reach their full potential by promoting rigorous academic expectations, preparing students to be leaders in the community, nurturing positive relationships, and ensuring the learning and skill development necessary for high student achievement.

Wilder is a “No Place for Hate” School

The No Place for Hate initiative was started this school year, 2018-2019. This program is sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) which is a school climate improvement framework that provides schools with support and strategies for combating bias, bullying and hatred, leading to long-term solutions for creating and maintaining a positive climate. The purpose for No Place for Hate is to:

  • Build inclusive and safe communities in which respect is the goal, and all students can thrive.

  • Empowering students, faculty, administration and family members to take a stand against hate and bullying by incorporating new and existing programs under one powerful message.

  • Sending a clear, unified message that all students have a place to belong.

There is a No Place for Hate Committee that is comprised of students from 6th-8th grade, all counselors, a parent, stakeholders from Henrico Mental Health, Communities In Schools, and the family advocate.

Hours of Operation: The building hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Students may enter the building at 8:05 am and exit at 3:15 pm unless they are staying for after-school activities.
