LDWMS Mission and Vision Statement
Our team is committed to serving all scholars by providing them with a safe educational experience focused on deeper learning, celebrating diversity and fostering leadership.
Our vision is to empower students to reach their full potential by promoting rigorous academic expectations, preparing students to be leaders in the community, nurturing positive relationships, and ensuring the learning and skill development necessary for high student achievement.
Wilder is a “No Place for Hate” School
The No Place for Hate initiative was started in the 2018-19 school year. This program is sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League, and is a school climate improvement framework that provides schools with support and strategies for combating bias, bullying and hatred. The program fosters long-term solutions for creating and maintaining a positive climate. No Place for Hate:
Builds inclusive and safe communities in which respect is the goal, and all students can thrive.
Empowers students, faculty, administration and family members to take a stand against hate and bullying by incorporating new and existing programs under one powerful message.
Sends a clear, unified message that all students have a place to belong.
The No Place for Hate Committee comprises students in grades 6-8, all counselors, a parent, stakeholders from Henrico Mental Health and Developmental Services, Communities In Schools representatives and the school's family advocate.
Hours of operation: The school is open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Students may enter the building at 8:05 a.m. and leave at 3:15 p.m. unless they are staying for after-school activities.
